Random update, mainly in response to getting called out on Erika's blog.
Cheese curds. None at the fair, but I did sample them in grade school as some sort of show and tell (or maybe it was some kind of mandated program by the Wisconsin educational system...who can say).
Much more likely to run into the cheese curd in Wisconsin than MN. Oh, and as far as I know, they are made from the shit that is left over after you take the good parts to make cheese.
Further more, I saw G-love and Special Sauce in a bar opening for the Femmes. Good show (and the Femmes really should only be seen in a bar, I think).

They used to have a cheese curd stand at the Iola Old Car Show. A co-worker (from Milwaukee) used to always get some. I felt like vomiting.
Of course, down here in da south, you can get fried pork rinds in all kinds of tempting flavors. They're even in the vending machine downstairs from our office.
